How the Building Was Designed Around Patient Experience
Dialysis is physically demanding and patients spend hours in the building at a time, which makes environmental comfort a clinical consideration rather than a finish preference. The design team specified a highly efficient variable refrigerant flow system to give precise zone level control across the building, and organized the program around natural light and soft interior finishes. Design build delivery held the architects and contractor to a single budget and schedule through a project that combined demolition, foundation reuse, and medical grade systems in one scope. The building has since undergone further redevelopment to serve evolving medical use, including elevator, exterior panel siding, roof system, HVAC, and three phase electrical service upgrades.
